Patagonia Black Hole duffels - now 100% recycled!

Patagonia's just made a big change to one of its most iconic products - the Black Hole duffel bags that have been a favourite for adventurers for many years. Now they’re made using a new 100% recycled material that’s even more sustainable and good for the planet.  

You can see the difference right away. Now Patagonai Black Hole bags have a matt finish that’s a result of switching from the original ‘virgin’ thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) water and abrasion resistant coating to a 100% recycled TPU laminate that dos the same job. 

Being fully recycled is a big step for Patagonia, and their dedication to making the world's most sustainable outdoor products. Patagonia gets the TPU ‘waste’ direct from other factories and recycles it into the coating for Black Hole Duffels – which have been built from 100% recycled fabrics for many years already. 

The recycled TPU coating also simplifies repairs because Patagonia workshops can now swap entire torn panels instead of making patches. Easier repairs are important, because Patagonia offers a lifetime warranty on Black Hole bags. The 100% recycled TPU shift keeps new resources from being used and prevents damaged products ending up in landfills. It's a win/win!
