Wanaka

Bike & Hardware Inventory Specialist

📍 Location: Wanaka
⏰ Hours: Full-time

Are you passionate about bikes, outdoor gear, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? We’re looking for a Bike & Hardware Inventory Specialist to join our Outside Sports crew!
If you’re someone who loves accuracy, organisation, and the outdoor industry, this could be your perfect role.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Product Management
• Create and set up new hardware products (bikes, skis, climbing equipment) in
the stock management system
• Maintain accurate product data including product codes, SKUs, pricing, and
specifications
• Update and manage product codes and variations
• Ensure consistency between physical stock and system records

Bike Category Focus
• Oversee inventory accuracy and movement for bikes and bike-related hardware
• Coordinate stock replenishment and transfers between locations
• Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies
• Assist in forecasting and planning for bike stock requirements

Stock Control Operations
• Process goods-in deliveries accurately and efficiently
• Conduct regular stocktakes
• Manage internal stock transfers
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies

E-Commerce & Web Support
• Support web product uploads and updates
• Ensure correct product data, specifications, and availability are reflected online
• Assist with maintaining accurate online listings for bikes and hardware products

Retail Shift Leader

📍 Location: Wanaka
⏰ Hours: Full-time

Are you passionate about the outdoors and enjoy supporting a team? Join our Wanaka store and be part of a friendly, motivated crew while helping customers find the gear they need to explore, play, and thrive in the great outdoors. If you like staying active, connecting with people, and taking a bit of extra responsibility on shift, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements
  • Retail or sales experience, preferably in outdoor brands
  • Confident supporting the team and helping things run smoothly on shift
  • Great communication skills in English; Mandarin is a bonus
  • Experience with stock, basic scheduling, or store operations is helpful
  • Friendly, customer-focused, and hands-on approach
  • Able to problem-solve and stay calm in a busy environment
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and support others
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable
  • Available to work weekends and public holidays

Are you passionate about skiing and helping others get the most out of their time on the mountain? Join our team as a Boot Fitter and help customers find the right ski boots, skis, and equipment for comfort, performance, and confidence on snow.

You’ll guide customers through the fitting and selection process using your technical knowledge to ensure comfort, performance, and safety, while delivering friendly, high-quality service. If you enjoy being active, connecting with people, and working in a team that values adventure and community, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements
  • One season or more of experience, or solid knowledge of ski boots
  • A passion for skiing and helping others get the perfect fit
  • Fluent in English
  • Multilingual skills are a plus, but not required
  • Must be able to commit to the full-season
  • Available to work weekends and holidays

Te Anau

Retail Assistant Manager

📍 Location: Te Anau
⏰ Hours: Full time
💰 $25-$30 per hours
🗓️ Duration: Permanent

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team in Te Anau. This role supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring outstanding customer service and maintaining smooth management of our retail department. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organised and motivated to help our team deliver an exceptional outdoor retail experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in all aspects of daily operations, including sales, merchandising and supervising the team.
  • Leading the Te Anau store's goods-in and stock management processing.
  • Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Support with the management and coordination of hiking gear rentals, ensuring equipment is well-maintained and properly tracked.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints and returns in a professional and solution-focused manner.
  • Contribute to visual merchandising and ensure the store is clean, well-presented and fully stocked.
  • Help train and develop staff in product knowledge, sales techniques and customer service standards.
  • Open and close the store as required, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards and store procedures.
  • Provide full store leadership and operational oversight during the Store Manager’s annual leave or absence
Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous retail supervisory or assistant management experience (outdoor retail experience preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Passion for the outdoors and knowledge of our outdoor equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Experience in sales, Cin7 Omni Inventory software & Shopify POS.
  • Organised and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • The successful applicant must have accommodation in Te Anau.
  • Ideally experience with Hunting and Fishing licences and clean gear certificates.
  • Fit enough to do a lot of heavy lifting.
