The Motatapu Icebreaker Marathon
Motatapu Off-Road Marathon 2014:
The Motatapu Icebreaker Marathon, is set in the spectacular southern country valley in the South Island of New Zealand. The marathon race starts at Motatapu Station, near Lake Wanaka and finishes in historic Arrowtown. It will be held 7th March 2015. An iconic off-road course that takes competitors through the magnificent Motatapu, Soho and Glencoe Stations, following the route from the early days of the Maori settlers who used the valley for hunting and greenstone gathering, the famous Pounamu. Land owners open the valley for public each year specifically for the Motatapu Marathon.
The Marathon can be done all by bike, run or triathlon. Competitors will be challenged with changing obstacles of numerous river crossings, hills climbs and downhill.
