High Five-O Challenge for Mental Health - Progress report

Mal Law is doing something crazy.  To raise $400,00 for mental health he is climbing 50 peaks & running 50 off-road marathons in just 50 days. Back to back. No rest days. His aim is to raise at least $400,000 for the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.

Here at Outside Sports we've been following his progress and we must say we're pretty impressed so far.  Running 50 mountain marathons is no easy task especially when they're back to back.

He is currently on his 36th day.  With an early 6.30 start his day will take in the fabled Tararua Mountain Race (the Southern Crossing course) - one of NZ's longest standing, and toughest, mountain races. The race goes from Kaitoke to Otaki Forks, across the Tararuas and over Mt. Hector, this is the stuff of legends and not a day for those that are strangers to hard yakka. With another 14 days to go it's not too late to sign up and join Mal on his journey - you can find details on the High Five-O Mental Health Challenge website.

Mal has definitely experienced highs and lows along the ways so far.  If you haven't followed the High Five-O Challenge for Mental Health so far, it's not too late - you can follow Mal on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/high50challenge?fref=ts or you can track him via his website.

Head over to the site http://www.high50.org.nz/ or text GOMAL to 2446 to donate $3 to the Mental Health Foundation NZ.

Here's a great video of Mal returning to his Otago Home part way through his challenge.  One thing to try and decide while watching is which is more inspirational.  Mals determination or the Scenery?
