Even in he top class of MTB brake disc rotors Shimano's RT-MT905 must not shy away from the competition. With the help of the proven Ice-Technologies Freeza design, the XTR disc with 6-bolt mount offers first-class, consistently stable braking performance, even on long descents or at an extremely aggressive riding style.

The key to outstanding braking performance is rapid heat dissipation, which is achieved with the help of a special coating and the so-called sandwich construction (stainless steel - aluminum - stainless steel). This results in a significantly lower surface temperature, which in turn ensures less fading, more consistent brake modulation and higher braking power, with less brake noise and longer brake pad life.

Comparing a 203 mm diameter RT-MT905 disc to a pure 220 mm stainless steel brake disc under extreme conditions, the compact design of the XTR rotor combined with heat reduction factors results in a 100° C lower operating temperature.
